Questions & Answers

Question: Can you dry hardwood?

In most cases yes.  We use a rescue mat system from Dri-Eaz in combination with the AirWolf/ WolfPack to force air under the hardwood; the DriForce connected to the Rescue Mat System to draw moisture out of the Hardwood; and the DriTec Pro 150 to dry the air entering the AirWolf. This combination allows us to effectively and carefully dry the hardwood to a pre-loss condition.  To see how some of this equipment works click this link to go to Dri-Eaz Products and at the bottom of the page you will find the 'Virtual training Center'.  click on that prompt and choose the piece of equipment that interests you.  It will describe in a virtual manner how the equipment works.

The Restoration Sciences Academy has been doing research on the wood flooring drying process.  The key question for them was "Save the floor- or discard it?"  For information on this study click this link.

Question:  Does having carpet in my home induce or increase allergic reactions from dust?

Many times I have heard people say that they have gone away from carpet in order to reduce their allergic or asthmatic conditions.  Recent studies have shown that carpets that are well maintained actual function as a filter to dust in the air and then allow for its removal by vacuuming and deep steam cleaning.  One study was from Sweden.

Question:  Is it Possible to repair a bleach spot on my carpet?

Recently our technician completed a Carpet Color Correction Course in Calgary.  Once the certification has been processed he will be able to address bleaching issues.  In some cases bleaching damages the dye sites and thus it can't be repaired, but in many cases it can be repaired.
